Kashrus Halacha - Pas Yisroel and Bishul Yisroel: Modern-day Applications of the Halachos of Food Prepared by a Non-Jew. Arranged according to the order of Shulchan Aruch YD 112-113.

This work probes the principles delineated by the Poskim and applies them to scenarios both old and new, in areas of halacha relating to Pas Yisroel and Bishul Yisroel. Thus, Shach’s logic regarding hard pears sheds light on whether corn on the cob requires bishul Yisroel (Chapter 47), a possible proof from Issur V’Heter’s statement on kishkeh plays a role in deciding if a Jew must participate in the cooking of potato chips (Chapter 26), and a psak regarding tuna steaks is questioned from a Gemara about a person who burned hair off an animal hide (Chapter 33).The halachic analysis is mixed with modern examples and rulings from Poskim involved in kosher certification – including many rulings from the cRc Beis Din – which will be of interest to Rabbis, kashrus professionals, and those who want to learn more about the kosher food they eat.
