Wouten and the sacred hut

Wouten, the Mbum princess, was born in the 13th Century in the central part Africa, in the highlands where the Logone and Sanaga rivers criss-cross. Daughter to Koya, the powerful monarch of the Ngan-Ha kingdom, and Queen Vanafou, she had an initiatory childhood and adolescence that will turn her into a woman with extraordinary powers and an undaunted war leader.As the head of an elite unit that she has built up within the warrior corps, she imposes herself within the kingdom and commands respect from all neighbouring territories. Driven by an inner strength whose limits she alone explores, she will topple all the codes of tradition that have been established for centuries. She enters the sacred hut consecrated uniquely to members of the secret society and new kings before their enthronement. This huge overstep to the already established rules leads to the exodus of the majority of the Mbum people of Ngan-Ha towards the West Region.
